How do I replace the shifter cable?

Please tell me how to replace the shifter cable on the truck listed above and also, I heard the trickiest part is putting the new shifter cable back in the same gear that it's already in. so, please explain how to know to do that in detailed steps/instructions. Thank you so much.

Hi,

It really isn't too difficult. As far as making sure you are in the correct gear, I highlighted how it's done in pic 7 below.

Note that this information is for a column-mounted shifter. If the shifter is located in the center column, let me know and I'll get you the directions specific to that.
