Did the cable break or a bushing fail? The bushings can be repaired with the cable in the car. Or is it something else?
As for a diagram, Ford decided that was too difficult now and switched to pictures of each step. As such you would be better off to get a one year subscription to Alldata for around thirty dollars. It shows all the clips and steps that are involved. For instance you have to remove the center console, which means you also need to remove some of the dash trim and there are a lot of clips. Miss one and you may need new trim.
The step are easy on paper.
Remove the air cleaner box.
Disconnect the cable from the transmission and the bracket.
Remove the 9 trim panels needed to remove the center console.
Disconnect and remove the parking brake and cover assembly.
Remove the console. Disconnect the shifter assembly.
Remove the heat duct.
Remove the clips and screws that secure the cable.
Disconnect the cable from the shift lever on the controller.
Raise the car up so you can work under it.
Remove the front and middle covers if equipped.
Remove the exhaust heat shield from the tunnel.
Disconnect the cable from the clip and remove the cable from the vehicle.
Reverse the process to install the new cable.
Adjust the new cable.
Apply and release the parking brake twice within five seconds, pausing with the switch in the neutral position for approximately one-half second between each apply and release to clear the code set when the EPB was disconnected.
