If this only happened one time on a manual transmission, it sounds like the shifter didn't fully engage reverse. This reverse gear on this transmission is a spur type gear so if it doesn't fully seat then it doesn't "engage." This sounds like the clutch disc is falling apart not allowing the clutch disc to spin "free" but to be sure let go over these videos and guide to help us fix the problem.

This means I wouldn't worry about it if it is functioning normally today. If there were an issue with the clutch then it would affect other gears as well and most likely first so I wouldn't worry about that. Again, this is a purely mechanical system so if there is no issue today then it was just an issue of partial engagement and when these engage partially in reverse, they just free wheel. If there is no grinding in reverse and it is working normally today, I would not worry about it. Let me know if I missed something and we can go from there. Thanks
