Shift lock

My gear shift is locked in first gear. I just had the shifter assembly replaced so I know that is not the problem. What else can cause that and how do you fix it?

Hello,

It sounds like the shifter cable has come apart not letting you move the shifter but to be sure let's disconnect the cable from the shifter. Here are guides to help us get started below.
