Hello, I am experiencing shaking while driving speeds of 25 to about 40 mph. The issue is not present at a cold start but after driving for quite time it begins to occur. I've checked tires for an abnormalities and didn't find any issues. I also checked for any loose bolts on the suspension. This issue only occurs while the vehicle is moving accelerating and braking alike.

Hi,

Does the shaking get worse when you apply the brakes? Also, do you feel it more in the steering wheel or the seat/floor? Has tire balance been checked?

Also, is the check engine light staying on when the engine is running?

Let me know.

Take care,

Joe

Hello, thanks for your reply. The shaking continues the same throughout braking but when the vehicle comes to about 10 MPH the shaking stops all together. It's very minimal in the steering wheel and some shaking can be felt in the seat and floor. The check engine light is on and stays on. The only code it's been showing is for the fan speed sensor. The traction control light is illuminated as well, and I am only able to use 2 wheel drive since it has been on. The balance hasn't been checked yet.

It sounds like you have a couple of different things happening. As far as the traction control and 4wd, that is likely related to a wheel speed sensor. As far as the vibration, have you had the tire balance checked? It isn't uncommon for a vibration to start and then go away at a specific speed if there is a balance issue.

Also, a bad universal joint could be causing it as well. Take a look through this link:

Let me know.

Joe

Thanks again! I had the tires checked and I was told that the two in front would need to be replaced due to wear on the outer tread. I had suspected the ujoint being an issue. I have been hearing the described squeaking from the link you provided. I plan to check it out this weekend.

Hey Joe, it turned out to be the U-joint on the front shaft. I change the front and the rear one out and now it's going pretty good. No more noise and vibrations. I also found that 2 heat shields were completely unmounted and just moving freely as I operated the vehicle. So I took of that as well.
