Vibration when driving at highway speed

My SUV is the XLT model. Recently replaced transfer case. Feels like slight vibration, maybe the rear axle dragging (is it constantly in AWD?) especially at highway speed, cracking popping at lower speeds while turning and accelerating. It is like it is struggling to drive.

It sounds like your transfer case is in 4wd all the time. Is the light on? If not I would check the transfer case actuator to see if it works. Here is a diagram below to help.

This shows you the actuator and the parts of the transfer case.

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.
