When I was removing the chains from the cam phaser and off the sprocket the cam phaser spun on me that should be natural. I guess I am taking it I am just curious about locking it down are. Can I rotate it back where I can line up on the two darker links on the chain so it lines up on the crankshaft the right way?

As long as it rotates freely you can rotate it so the marks line up. Just be sure to lock it in place this time.

Thanks for the reply alright one more question I'm about to hopefully getting ready to put the timing cover back on I'm just wondering my right side chain is tight and on my left side the chain is somewhat loose is that normal or should they both be tight? All the marks are lining up and good, or am I going to have to rotate the cam phaser to make the chain tight

Should be tight on both sides. Check that the tensioner is released and working.
