Engine Performance problem
1986 Ford F150 6 cyl Automatic 159000 miles

When I hook up the advance timing wire, the truck engine shakes. But when I leave it disconnected, the truck runs fine. But when you put a heavy load in the bed, the engine boggs down.

When you checked the timing, did you have the vacuum advance disconnected?

I did not fix it. Again if you keep the advance timing wire disconnected, the truck runs fine. If you connect the advance timing wire, the engine shakes and boggs down. You have to disconnect it to time the engine. It just that you cannot reconnect otherwise the problem occurs.

Yes the timing is correct with the wire disconnected. When the wire is hooked, the engine revs uo a bit and starts to shake. Sorry, I was out ot touch.
