I was driving on the highway last night and my car flashed service stabilitrack and service power steering drive with care and the steering got a lot stiffer. I tried starting it again today and it started fine but still has the same warnings and steering issue.

Hi,

The indicator, "Service Stabilitrack" can be set from a few different things which can also affect the steering. For example, a wheel speed sensor can cause it or even low brake fluid.

Because this is a newer vehicle, we really need to start by scanning the can bus. CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, all computers/modules are tied together via a few wires. This type of scan can retrieve codes regardless of the module storing them.

Here is a link that explains how it is done:

Most parts stores will scan the vehicle at no charge, but in most cases, they don't have a scanner that can read all codes.

If you want to try having a parts store, check it and let me know if there are codes, I can let you know the specifics. Otherwise, can-scan is what I recommend.

Let me know if you have questions or if I can do anything to help.

Take care,

Joe
