Your vehicle has an OBD1 computer system. You need to retrieve diagnostic trouble codes from it and it is very easy. All you will need is a jumper wire about three inches long or even a paper clip.

Go to this link. It describes how to retrieve codes for your vehicle. Additionally, it lists what each code means. Once you do that, let me know what code or codes you found, the present concerns, and I will help you diagnose the issue.
