Computer problem
1986 Chevy Corvette V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have an Auto X Ray OBD1 scanner model 10110.
I use this scanner on two cars, 1986 Corvette and 1986 Camaro, both cars have a 1988 prom chip, 86 Camaro due to engine change to 350, Corvette to delete the V.A.T.S.
The scanner has 41 data displays, #25 is MAP sensor, these cars don't have MAP sensors, they are both MAF systems. What is the scanner reading and why does it call it MAP sensor?
I have contacted Auto X Ray about this and they haven't been able to answer this question, can you help?

Hi there,

I would be checking the data collection capability of the scanner by testing for known faults, induce a fault code by unplugging the TPI and then test and see if it is reading correctly, do this with a few sensors, if the if the MAF show as as a MAP sensor, it just may be anomaly that it detects this, if all other sensors show as correct, I would consider the MAF & MAP as being one in the same as far as the scanned is concerned, and if the manufacture can't shed any light on this, I would consider finding a scanner that dose the job for you.
