I had a crankshaft sensor replaced February 5, 2019. The “service engine light” stayed off for a week, came back on February 15th. My mechanic changed another sensor (not sure what sensor) on Feb. 15th. Service engine light came on again in March. He cleaned the battery terminals and the service engine light didn’t come on again until April 1st. He turned the “service engine light” off and told me to let him know if it comes back on. The service engine light came on yet again Sunday, April 14th as I was leaving Sunday morning church service. I haven’t been able to get in touch with my mechanic due to some phone problems on his end.
This “service engine light” problem is really becoming a problem with me. The mechanic told me my car has between 30 – 40 sensors. Don’t know if this is true or not. I know my car is old but I like it and can’t afford to replace it. Do you have any suggestions as to what might be causing the “service engine light” to continue coming on?
