I just replaced my serpentine belt on my car and the second I turned it on the one of the sides teared off. Just like the last one? What is causing my belt to split on one of the treads?

there can be many things on this. any time a belt is replaced the tensioner should be as well. check alignment of pulleys as one may be off. you can use a straight edge.if there is junk in one of the pulleys that will cause it.
