Automatic transmission spline gear with shaft?

I have to replace my engines clutch and friction plates (Pressure plates) I first took out the first and reverse clutch pack then the second the planetary gear drives and there is a little 2.5 inch or so shaft that I cannot figure out where it goes again. And my camera cut out, so it didn't show where it goes. I am making a YouTube video, and I would like to know what it is called and where it goes. I am sure it came out of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th clutch pack area but when I look at everything it doesn't go anywhere, I could find. Please help. It has small splines on one end and the other has angled and curved splines.

do the washer bearings go out-wards or towards the other washer race.

And if you could, what are the torque specs for all Torque converter housing and internal clutch pack stabilizer (Not Sure on the Name)? Can't find it in my book.
