Lost key, got new key from dealership and now my car's security light is on and my car will not crank. All lights go out except check engine light when I turn to start position.

If you have another key you need to do a relearn process for the new key to work. Otherwise a mechanic or dealer will need to program the new key.

How did you get the new key? VIN number and title? If the security light is on with the new key either the key is not the correct one or the ignition switch is not reading it correctly.

From Bale Chevrolet with the VIN number and the title paid $50.00 for the key. Should I take the VIN, Title and key back to them and have them make me another key. Or should I Buy a new ignition switch and replace it also?

No the key has to be programmed to your security system maybe the dealer did not do it right, but it will take a mechanic to do it.

Sounds like the dealer just ordered a bare key. As HMAC says it takes a dealer level scan tool to enable the system and allow it to accept the new key. You might want to get a second key and have them do two, that way you have a spare and do not need to do it again if you misplace the key.
