Security light is on

My key fob got washed in the washing machine. so i replaced the battery and it worked again. But the security light with the lock is on and i have tried 5 or 6 reset procedures from online. Any help would be appreciated. Nothing has worked so far. Never had issues with the car either. Runs and drives great. Everything comes on but the light stays on.

Welcome to 2CarPros. Hate to say it but the fob is probably ruined. If you have another fob you can try it to see if the security light goes out. You could also have a shop use a good scan tool to talk to the security module and see what codes are stored as it might be a coincidental failure in the vehicle. Unless the light came on as soon as you used the washed key. That would point at the fob.
