Seat belt stuck

My seat belt on drivers side is stuck at the top of window I just bought the car and cannot afford a mechanic. so going try to do what I can myself. i have been reading online and have come to the conclusion that the motor is under drivers seat my question is, do I need to take seat out to be sure it is connected good? And do I have to worry about airbags? thanks for your help.

Hi Justin,

Here is the procedure for this per the manual. Unfortunately this leaves a lot to be desired. There are a couple videos on YouTube that show how to do this. I did not attach the links because they are pretty amateur but they give a pretty good idea how to un-jam them.

What happens is these belts/tracks get dried out and they jam up. They can be repaired but if they are left long enough in the stuck position, then the motor burns up. The motor is part of the track and does not come separate.

Again, just search YouTube for a little more "do it yourself" repairs. Hopefully your motor is not seized and if not, lubricating the track usually gets these working. Thanks
