I need to replace a seat belt on my car. My question is, do I need to turn off airbag and if so how?

Hello thomas
here is the complete procedure to replace seat belt.
Disconnect the battery.

- Remove the B-pillar upper trim. Refer to => [ Upper B-Pillar Trim ] See: Trim Panel > Removal and Replacement > Upper B-Pillar Trim

- Remove the B-pillar lower trim. Refer to => [ Lower B-Pillar Trim ] See: Trim Panel > Removal and Replacement > Lower B-Pillar Trim

- Remove the bolt - 1 - (40 Nm) and remove belt anchor - 2 - from body.

The screw - 1 - may be micro-encapsulated and must be heated using a hot air gun before loosening. While doing this, protect the neighboring seat belt against excessive heat with a moist towel.

If the screw is micro-encapsulated, it must be replaced every time it is loosened.

Before installing the new screw, threads on nut must be cleaned and cut again if necessary.

- Remove bolt - 3 - (40 Nm) and remove automatic belt retractors - 4 - from B-pillar.

Electrostatic charges may result in involuntary deployment of the belt tensioner. Therefore the technician must discharge static electricity from the body before separating the ignition and ground wiring. This is done, for example, by briefly grasping the chassis or door striker.

- Disconnect wiring harness - 5 -.

- Remove bolts - 6 - (2 Nm) and belt guide - 7 -.

- Remove bolt - 8 - (40 Nm) and remove belt relay - 9 - from belt height adjuster.

Installing

- Install in reverse order of removal.

- Connect the battery.
