Can I ask what you mean by reset? Is it not retracting or are you talking about the seat belt tensioner? Please give me more details so we can help you.

The airbags were deployed. I need to reset the seat belts so I can use them. They are retracted and can't be pulled out?

So, both cannot be allowed to be pulled out? This is the information they give:

Disconnect and isolate the battery negative (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge.

Let us know what happens.

The battery was disconnected for several hours when it was replaced after the crash. Now what? The question is: how can the seat belts be mechanically released.

You can't really because the units are sealed. Can you upload a short video of the problem please? You can upload it here with your response.
