My car has been making a screeching sound when I accelerate. I would guess it’s the timing belt, but my car has a timing chain. Would my car still be making that sound? Side note, this sound started around the time I got the front axle links fixed after I endured pothole damage.

It's hard to say without hearing the noise. Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so I can hear the noise? That way I can tell for sure what's going on. You can upload it here with your response. I would guess it would be your serpentine belt, here is a generic guide to help you see what you are in for when doing the job with instructions below for your car:

The power steering belt is a "stretchy" belt, so you force the belt off and on with a special tool. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what you find.

This would be the sound. The first screeching sound was not from the brakes, it was me starting to reverse. This sound is not constant when I accelerate, but it’s happening more frequently for me to be concerned. It especially happens, for example at a drive through and I’m about to pull away from the window. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the video, I do hear the brake noise, was there the screech noise you were talking about? Can you lift the hood and use a flashlight to inspect the serpentine belt? Look for cracks and glazing please. If you are unsure, please take another video, while the hood is open have a helper rev the engine to see if the noise starts to happen.
