Scanner not connecting

No scanner connection, it stays off.

I check the scanner on other vehicle and it is okay.

I already located the fault, it is fuse number 17. It was blown, it is 20 apmps. The scanner is working again!

No communication from truck to code reader with a check engine light on.

Good morning.

Do you have a test light to check for power to the connector? Check pin 16 for power. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

I attached the diagram for you of the power wire, pin 16, for the connector.

Check the fuse for power on both sides.

If the fuse is good, there is a good chance the ECM is the issue.
