I have had my car which has been passed down to me for a few weeks now. It is making a grinding noise which sounds like if you were to take a spinning metal plate and put a metal rod onto it. It changes with engine rpm and begins to sound more weird and modulate at about 3000 rpm. This happens in any gear. When in drive if I accelerate somewhat quickly it seems to stop until I let off the throttle or when it lets off to shift. I am not entirely sure of what happened to it when my grandparents had the car but they had it stalled and refuse to start on them. They had it towed to a Buick dealer where they changed the oil and I am not sure but the paper says something about replacing a cylinder or something with the cylinder. It was only one and I am not sure what the issue could have been and if it is related to the noise. The noise also comes with what I personally think is excessive vibration. This noise seems to go away somewhat when the car warms up or if there is warm weather but its still there. This is has a Honda v6 (auto). Thanks for the help!

Have you removed the drive belt and started it for a few seconds to see if the noise goes away? That would tell you it is something driven by the belt.

I have thought of doing that and will try it soon (fingers crossed it is a cheap pulley). Thanks for the response!

So I took off the belt today and started it with the grinding noise still there. At this point I'm hoping that maybe it could be a motor or tranny mount which could explain the vibration and the noise only being inside the car.

We would be able to tell right away if you shoot a quick video of the noise and upload it here so we can see what you are talking about.
