I was approach by the service center manager today and ask if I wanted to spend $109 to have the fuel injection system cleaned. I said no.....am I correct in my thinking that this is an unnecessary expense which I could solve by adding a pint of fuel injection cleaner to every 4th tank.

i would say every fourth tank is too often to run cleaner in ur tank.what kind of gas do u use as in what brand?if u use the top tier gas then ur injectors should be pretty clean.like unocal 76 chevron shell texaco but i would use the cleaner like every 15k if u wanted to run some thru and i would use the chevron techron stuff its expensive but works great i think they sell it at costco in like a four pack even.if u use top tier gas then u dont really need that professionial cleaning unless u had alot miles on ur vechile and were using non top tier gas.
