Bluelightnin6:

thanks for a quick reply. I have a question on the diagram you provided.
I have a front wheel drive V-6. Should not the 'front' label be on the other side of the engine?

The diagram you provided looks like a rear drive engine.
Could you please clarify this?

Thanks,
newbie321

The pic is only intended as quick reference for the firing order and cylinder ID as it is the same for many different models, just disregard the FRONT label.

Ok, I will disregard the FRONT label. Is there any way to find out where #1 cylinder is physically located without any reference? Is it the closest to the driver's side?

Thank you,

Cyl 1 is right but 1 2 3 on right side 4 5 6 on other side engine code 4 your engine code is for engine code 8

if drive belts are closest to passenger side fender than 1 3 5 will be closest to firewall. if belts are near driver fender than 6 4 2 are closest to firewall. should be belts at passenger fender and 1 3 5 at firewall side, most common set up. see if this pic helps..

It's not explained well. The picture shows the front of the engine. The front of the engine is on the passenger side in the case of most transverse engines, the Saturn Vue is. So cylinder one is on the passenger side closest to the firewall
