Hi, I have a chirping sound that is getting louder from my engine, sometimes sounds likt a cricket too.
My mechanic told me it's the serpentine belt, it's drying out, should replace in the next couple of months? Is this normal for a vehicle with this mileage and does this seem like the right diagnosis?
Also, I had the brake pads replace reently because of a screech, the vehicle stops better but I still here the screech when the brakes are cold or wet, during the first few stops I make?
Thank you for taking my questions.

AT 36K and 3+ yrs yes the belt should be replaced. Also, coolant flush and hoses, you know the old say"pay me know or pay more later".
On the brakes where the rotors surfaced or replaced? If not the squeal will be coming from the uneven surfaces ie. Harmonic noise. If they were there brake quiting stuff on the market you can also, you can have the leading edge of pad chamfered.
Hope this helps

Just the pads were replaced, NOT the rotors and the screech is the same noise as before I had the pads replaced? Make any sense?
Thanks again!
