The only pulley that causes your belt to turn is the crankshaft pulley. This is what drives the belt. What plastic pulley lost its grooves? The tensioner pulley? Once the belt is off, verify every pulley turns freely, and that there is no "freeplay" in the pulley bearings. You can do this by trying to pull away from the engine block. There should be no play. If a pulley rocks side to side as you pull it away from the block, its no good. Replace it.
