My dealership says that I need my a/c evaporator needs cleaned. My question is how hard is this to do? I have very little experience on a/c's. Should I let the dealership fix or attempt myself? I would like to try, but I need to know what tools I need and how to do it. Thanks for any advice and/or help.

Hi there,

This is an external cleaning, you can just remove the radiator and blow compressed air through the fins (from the back to the front) to remover all dirt and rubbish, a good hose out will also help, there is a special "comb" that is used to straighten any bent cooling fins, this must be dove very carefully so as not to do more damage. i would get the dealership or get a quote from a A/C accredited shop for the job first.
