If u don't live in California u can go to a auto parts store like autozone and they will reset it for u. Let me know how it goes.

I'll have to give that a whirl. For futrue reference, is there a way to do it without going to an auto store? I read there is a way on the 2003 model but not sure if there is a way or if that is the same way to do it for the 2002 model.

I don't know of anyway of reseting the codes other then using the code scanner there getting pretty cheap u can get one that just reads and resets codes for under 40. If there is a harbor frieght by u they have some pretty cheap ones also sorry I don't know of any other way to reset codes for that vechile other then the code scanner.
