How do I check the brake fluid in my car?

just open ur hood up and take a look at ur master cyclinder the level shoud be above the seam of the bottle but not all the way to the cap.if its below the seam i would check ur brakes because u should never have to add fluid.when the fluid is low u have a leak or worn out brake pads.let me know what u find.
