My Saturn drives very smooth and continues to give good gas mileage. However, at idle there is an intermittent rattle in the engine compartment. I think it is coming from the driver's side. The manual transmission and clutch continue to shift very smooth.

I have cleaned the throttle with carb cleaner to eliminate the "sticking at idle" problem. The intermittent rattle was present before I did this.

Other than the serpentine belt, I have never replaced any major components in the engine compartment. The vehicle has a very good service record. I am the original owner.
