1997 Saturn SW1 car shuts off and other things when ii pres

not sure if this is electrical but it seems that way. i was stopped at a red light and the car shut off and wouldnt start again. i pushed the car to a spot and it started up but when i pressed the brakes it shut off.it idles down and quits. the hazards also light up a dim solid. when not running if i press brakes the car chimes and i can here here something run. its a low hum, not the fuel pump. ive strriped the car to see as much wires as i could and i cant find a short. if i pull the "brake" fuse it does none of this. any ideas?thanks

Make sure the cables are clean and tight start the car up get a multimeter see how many volts it reads at the battery.let me know.
