2000 Saturn SL2 Oil Pressure Sending Unit/Switch

Oil has begun to leak excessively out of nowhere. My uncle who is a mechanic said that an oil pressure sending unit would be a quick fix that would help but would not necessarily solve the problem. I have purchased the switch but do not know where it is located in the engine. The internet says it is a very quick and easy replacement. Where is it located?

Hi mtpettig, Welcome to 2carpros and TY for the donation You need to double check for leaks at the valve cover, front and rear seals of the crankshaft and oil pan The oil pressure switch is on rear of engine near oil filter. See below

here is a better pic of the sending unit location but in the pic it shows a early like 1991-1992 sending unit when they had a oil pressure gauge on the cluster they used a larger sending unit.urs will be much smaller.its pretty uncommon for ur model to have a leaky sender.i would check to see if ur oil filter was loose or torn seal on it or if someone double gasketed ur oil filter.also check the other areas mention by rasmataz.
