When I start my car and put it into reverse, neutral or park it vibrates. When slowing down the revs will jump as the car downshifts.
I was told the vibration could be from transmission mounts. Would replacing them be a logical plan or is there something wrong with the transmission?

If your car vibrates in park also and your engine run's smooth and not missing then the first mount I would look at is your upper motor mount real common for them to go bad they support all the weight of the engine. Then if it vibrates in gear then I would be looking at the lower transmission mount pretty common for them to go bad as well they support all the weight of the transmission. Also go to a auto part's store like auto zone and have your car scanned for codes if you have any let me know the code number's.

If the service engine soon light is on then there should be at least one code.
