1998 Saturn SL2 Front Wheel Drive Manual 98000 miles

I'm looking to help out a friend. After recently having the clutch replaced the shifter will not go into reverse, even with the engine off, it acts like it's locked out somehow.

Can u see the the shifter cables moving trying to go into reverse the tower etc?let me know.
