I have to push the brake pedal almost down to the floor to stop the car. I started it up and pumped the brakes to build up pressure (not sure it did). What would cause me to have to push so far? The car will stop and there are no noises when I apply the brakes.

If there's no leak anywhere -try bleeding it -don't work replace the brake master cylinder.
