Code reader shows po118, changed ect sensor. Could it be the wire?

When u replaced the temp sensor did u put in a brass tipped one hopefully u did the plastic tipped ones crack. Did u look at the connector and see if it's corroded if it is the. If will have to be replaced. Also inspect the wires and connector make sure the wires didn't come loose. Let me know what u find.
