This is just from personal experience I own a 92 SL2 saturn I am no expert however if you know anything about your saturn then the same thing happened to me and I took it to the shop where they told me that it is common in old saturns and GMs that the whole odometer cable goes haywire and unfortunately with the way our years are modeled that means replacing the whole gauge cluster. Another thing to check which is time consuming but costs near to nothing is the contacts on your gauges maybe need to be cleaned or replaced.
