Electrical problem
1993 Saturn SL2 Front Wheel Drive Manual

Checked all underhood and underdash fuses - OK.
Meter checked inst panel cluster connector - pin 'w' not receiving any load. Chilton's indicates this pin for general dash lights. Can not locate any reference to where this line connects. Found one reference to 'lighting, dim pot, and dim fuse 7.5A' - but fuse in underdash is 10A and is good. Meter checked dim pot - OK.

your best bet would be to trace the main lead that your having problems with , or by-pass it with a jumper lead to see if you are shorting to ground somewhere, I had this issue with my 95 SL-2 but in my case the whole cluster didn't work , but check that line and see if its shorted some where .... again Pre-Gm saturns where never wired right and they have cheap and i mean cheap jacketing material , so also check the integrity of the wire it may have rubbed off somewhere and is shorting under the dash
