2002 Saturn SL1 High RPM'S

I have a 2002 Saturn and it idles high around 2500 rpms all the time. I would like to know what is cuasing this and what I need to do to fix it. It doesn't shift hard when I put it into gear, other than that it runs great on the highway, thanks for your help.
