have a 1999 Saturn sl1. Car for last week has been running hot and a/c blows hot when at a stop light but resumes when up to speed. Topped coolant today then while riding around the block got flashing service engine soon light with associated sputter and difficulty accelerating. Any Ideas? Oil Level is good. Coolant level is good.

When you turn the a/c on does the cooling fan come on?Also go to a auto part's store like auto zone and have your codes read let me know what the numbers are.
