The clutch was was weak when I bought it,and 18 year old drove it for a couple of days. Now it won't engage , could it be in the hydraulic system, or the clutch plate?

the hydrliacs only release the clutch not make it engage.if ur clutch pedal is firm all the way down then ur clutch master and slave are good.i would put a pressure plate clutch disc and throw out bearing in it.also have ur flywheel turned.yeah a weak clutch and a 18 yr old new driver dont mix.let me know how it goes.
