Code 12: No RPM Reference Pulse
This code is normal when no reference pulses are received by control module, such as when the engine is not running
Is the vehicle running poorly? Any other codes stored?

The car jerks when it goes up to high speed, the engie was not running at the time code came up. The code was confirmed by a mechanic (friend of ours) which got the code by counting how many flashes there was. No other codes came up.

How does it jerk? In the same gear or while shifting to go up the hill? That code doesn't mean nothing so just ignore it.

It's not a stick, it's a automatic. Not to be rude.

I know. It still should downshift when going uphill though.

Actually I just got the car so dont know much about it. I had a mechanic look at it and one of the things he said was that misfiring might be an issues, so a tuneup should clear it up right?

Tune up is definitely good place to start and probably will clear it up
