1997 Saturn Sedan knocking noise

Ok i have a question, i replaced the tappets, thinking thats what is way, it only made the noise at higher rpm's, so i bought a donor car, that had nothing wrong with it, the same exact motor, i exchanged the tappets and its still making the noise, and now is leaking oil near the oil filter. do u have a single overhead cam or a dual over head cam.is the oil comming from the valve cover or the head.let me know.
