This car began to run sluggish with very little power the other day. The check engine light came on. I found out that cyl. #2 and #3 were not getting any spark. I checked the wires, both coils and the ignition module of which there was nothing wrong with any of them. I asked the guy at autozone where I had the module checked what else could it be and he said the only thing left to check was the crankshaft position switch or the computer. Is this true? If so, where is the cps located on this car?

I swaped the coils. I switched 1-4 with 2-3 and still no spark. I switched 2-3 with 1-4 and there was spark. In other words, both coils worked on 1-4. I removed the module from the engine and had it tested. They said it was good. The only thing left to check is the CKP and the the PCM. If the other components are working, why would there be no spark at 2-3? There is 12+ volts coming from the pink/black wire on the harness that connects to the module.

O.K. PCM grounds coil to fire so you have eliminated all but PCM Crank sensor would not cause problem most likely fuel pump would not operte if crank out.

seems like it should be one of the coils. I will take them to have them both tested anyway.
