I just purchase a 1996 SL2 Saturn 4 cylinder engine with 122200 miles on it. I had the car alined and the oil changed a week ago. Last Friday I was driving the car home and the service light with a wrench next to it came on. There is also a service engine soon light which has not come on. The car drove fine going home which is about 38 miles. A lady at work has a Saturn and she stated that the light came on as something was not reset after the oil change. She stated that there was a button in the fuse box under the hood that needed reset. I could not find any such button. I do not have the owners manual. Help If the answer is correct I will donate

I am NOT a mechanic but I have the same problem and just found this answer to it (after replacing a battery);
"The check engine light on your car must be reset with a computer scanner."
