1997 Saturn SC2 1.9L DOHC 87K miles. My battery goes dead when I leave the car standing wo starting for a day or more. Had battery checked twice at Sears. It's good and passes their load tests etc. Alternator light does NOT come on after car starts and running after using jumper cables or battery charger for a few minutes to start it. I put an ammeter between + terminal and end of + cable. It draws 0.5-0.6 amps with nothing on or running. I think this is a high current draw for accessories eg. Clock etc? I pull each fuse one at a time and found only one stops the current draw labeled 30A IP BATT. Don't know exactly what it serves for? If I disconnect + battery wire after running the car and leave it off, then the car will start anytime or days afterwards without a problem.
My guess is something is drawing that current when the car is idle but I don't know what. Can you suggest how to find it?
