Door Lock on '98 Saturn SL2

I'm putting speakers in my son's car.How can I unhook the lock from the rod behind the door panel?

Could be a PITA. Have you removed the door skin or inside panel? Are you trying to remove the rod at the interior lock button, the latch itself, the exterior lock cylinder, or the power lock solenoid?

I'm trying to remove the rod at the interior lock button.I got the rod to the door latch removed.I took a screw driver and worked it loose.

The rod goes into the lock button from the top down. You have to move it up to remove it.

I got the door panel off today. After I got the passenger door off. The driver side was a snap. Thanks for the help.
