95 Saturn SL2 Misfiring

Ok! I have a 95 saturn SL2 145,000 miles good maint. changed coils, spark plugs starter, and plug wires. The car starts fine but when put into gear the engine knocks and shakes alot. I checked all connections and even replaced the plugs and it stills does the same thing. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you checked for a vacuum leak. If there is no leak I would then check the timing. BYM :)

How do u go about checking the timing on it with no distibuter

Coolant temp sensor very common on these and will cause a rough idle.

On the driver's side of the motor, plugged into the block. It's a small thing. If you get a sensor, you can match it up to the connector easy enough. Very quick to change. These are common enough, that even it wasn't the problem, I would want one on hand if I owned one again.
