2000 Other Saturn Models Temperature Needle Gauge

The needle gauge routinely rides at around half-way between C and H, or a little before half. Is this normal, or could this mean that the engine may be about to run hot? I got this car just a few days ago and am not familiar with what's normal.

It is pefrectly normal for the gauge to read in the middle or slightly below. If the needle reaches above 3/4 towards the hot, that is when you should start to be concerned. Much higher than that and you need to turn it off and have it examined.
