1998 Other Saturn Models Two Wheel Drive Automatic

could the neutral safety switch be the problem in my car? Sometimes my car wont start. The lights on the dash come on but it does not turn over. Also when driving sometimes the car "acts" like it goes in and out of gear "neutral".

the neutral safety switch is used to allow starter to engage if vehicle is in park or neutral. nothign to do with transmission slipping.
